Suspension Position Sensor
The Suspension sensor enables a measurement of the distance of travel of the suspension.
The zero point is defined on the datarecording systems software to allow a measurement in mm of the movement from that point.
The sensor mounting needs to follow the angle and travel as closely as possible to the piece under measurement to obtain the best results. When used on the swinging arm of a vehicle the ratio of movement can be calculated to allow the measurement to be the distance the suspension has moved or the distance the wheel has moved.
Check also the length of travel required this is important on the front forks of a motorcycle where the travel can be sizeable.
The graph below shows the effect of heavy braking on a GXR1000

| Light Purple | = Front fork |
| Dark Purple | = Rear swinging arm |
| Yellow | = Throttle |
| Blue | = Gear |
| Red | = brake |
